System pipe penetrations

System pipe penetrations can be divided into penetrations of:

• combustible pipes, i.e. plastic pipes made of PVC, PP, PE, etc.;
• non-combustible pipes, i.e. metal pipes made of steel, copper, cast iron, etc.; and
• non-combustible pipes in synthetic rubber lagging.

Given this division of system pipe penetrations, in order to select the proper system, factors such as the following must also be taken into account:

• pipe diameter and wall thickness;
• existing lagging thickness; and
• partition thickness and type.
